SYNOPSIS:
On the trail of hidden treasure Dirk Pitt (Matthew McConaughey) manages to thwart an attempt on the life of beautiful U.N. scientist Dr. Eva Rojas (Penelope Cruz) who's trying to decipher the cause of a strange epidemic that's driving a host of North Africans mad.
This suspicious turn of events throws them together and they embark on a journey across the desserts and over the seas to discover the truth behind the mysterious threat to the world's ecosystem, though wind up uncovering much more than they bargained for.
