Abrams to produce new Star Trek sequel due 2012
The sequel to JJ Abrams' hit reboot of the STAR TREK franchise, which grossed $127.7m internationally - more than twice the previous best international gross for the franchise - is set to beam into cinemas in 2012.
Paramount has set a domestic date of June 29, 2012 for the follow-up to the 2009 summer success, with JJ Abrams set to produce with his Bad Robot partner Bryan Burk. The cast that comprise the Enterprise crew will all return.
